Illustrations for The Economic Times

I added another gallery of illustrations done between 1994 to 1996 for The Economic Times, India. These were done in Photoshop 2.0 and 2.5, before layers were introduced in Photoshop 3.0.

I’d do a rough pencil sketch, scan it in and go crazy with Paths and Kai’s power tools, remember those. Some of the more detailed ones would end up with approx. 200 paths before my 40mb ram Mac IIci would choke.

Luckily they were all greyscale, when I started doing full color illustrations for Business Today, I’d work them up as miniatures, in half size, but that’s another tale…

Monet’s - “Le Bassin aux Nymphéas” - $80.4 million

A record price for a Monet, $80.4 million, was set for one of the rarest of his waterlilies yesterday at a Christie’s auction.

The previous record for a Monet, $41.4 million for “The Railroad Bridge at Argenteuil,” was set last month at Christie’s in New York.
